Our small-group Canterbury & White Cliffs tour from London takes us on a journey through time in a region known as 'the Garden of England.' This tour samples the best of this famous region, with ample time at the White Cliffs of Dover to walk and experience breath-taking views.
Our day trip to Canterbury from London begins by departing the 'City' and passing famous landmarks like the Tower of London, Tower Bridge and the Canary Wharf financial district. It won’t be long before we are travelling through the heart of the charming Kent countryside, known for its green hills, fruit farms, vineyards and flower fields.
Our first location is the ancient city of Canterbury, home to one of the most important religious sites in Britain - Canterbury Cathedral. Founded in 597 AD, this is the oldest cathedral in England and the spiritual heart of the Anglican Church. Discover the stories of St Augustine, who brought Christianity to Britain and Thomas Becket, the Archbishop famously martyred here in 1170. What to see in Canterbury? We’ll have time to visit the cathedral, explore the medieval lanes and enjoy the rich history of the city.
This afternoon our journey from London to the White Cliffs of Dover continues and next we'll arrive in the pretty seaside town of Deal. It was here that the first Roman invasion into Britain landed in 55bc, led by Julius Caesar. By the 13th century Deal was England’s busiest port, but today the town is known for its charming high-street, cafe culture, castle and pier. Take a gentle walk along the seafront promenade and have lunch, perhaps Fish & Chips by the sea?
Following the coastline we'll pass Dover Castle; known as the ‘Key to England’ due to its historic significance. This is one of the largest and most important fortresses in Britain, dating back to the 11th century. Then we’ll arrive at our next location; the world-famous White Cliffs of Dover in Kent, one of England's most iconic natural landmarks. Towering over 300 feet above the sea, these gleaming chalk cliffs offer sweeping views across the English Channel - on a clear day it’s possible to see France in the distance. These famous Kent cliffs have long been a symbol of hope, defence, and homecoming, especially during wartime. We’ll have plenty of time here to walk the cliff paths, breathe in the sea air, and admire one of the most breath-taking views in England.
Return to London
By late afternoon our day from London to the White Cliffs of Dover will turn back inland. Our Canterbury & White Cliffs tour returns to the DoubleTree by Hilton, Tower Hill by approximately 5:30pm.

Christian and Liam were excellent guides and really provided excellent historical information as well as information on the local areas. It was also good that it was a small group. Canterbury Cathedral is a must visit- so much history. Dover was great but a bit difficult with a bad back - still worth a visit.

The tour was great and the guide was perfect.We learned a lot of interesting and historical facts in a fun way and the guide knew his way around. The only thing i woild have liked to have was more free time we had when we arrived to any of the destinations. It just felt like we were on a tight scedulee and didnt have enough time to enyoj the attactions (around 1,5 to 2 hours was each stop).Otherwise it was a beautifull experience we will not forget.

Excellent tour! Our guide, Kevin, picked us promptly on time. As we headed out towards our first stop, he provided riveting historical details about sights in London as we passed. Kevin had a generous sense of humor that enlivened our trip to Canterbury. He also answered all of our questions. Traffic was lighter than normal through the day so we were able to view a couple of extra sites such as the Dover castle, which is magnificent.
Being in a smaller coach and able to navigate the road construction along the way was helpful as well. We saw all the sights and returned to our point of origination on time. Superb trip and services!

Great tour guide Kevin! Gave us tons of good information about more topics than just what was on the tour. Saw lots and had enough time at each stop to actually see something! Loved the small van instead of a big bus!!
