Nuestra excursión en grupo reducido a Canterbury y los acantilados blancos desde Londres es un viaje en el tiempo por una región conocida como «el Jardín de Inglaterra». Nuestra excursión de un día a Canterbury desde Londres comienza dejando atrás la «City» y pasando junto a lugares emblemáticos como la Torre de Londres, el Tower Bridge y el distrito financiero de Canary Wharf. Pronto estaremos atravesando el corazón del encantador campo de Kent, conocido por sus colinas verdes, sus granjas de frutas, sus viñedos y sus campos de flores.
Nuestra primera parada es la antigua ciudad de Canterbury, sede de uno de los lugares religiosos más importantes de Gran Bretaña: la catedral de Canterbury. Fundada en el año 597 d. C., es la catedral más antigua de Inglaterra y el corazón espiritual de la Iglesia anglicana. Descubriremos las historias de san Agustín, que llevó el cristianismo a Gran Bretaña, y de Thomas Becket, el arzobispo martirizado aquí en 1170. ¿Qué ver en Canterbury? Por la tarde, nuestro viaje desde Londres hacia los acantilados blancos de Dover continúa y llegaremos a la bonita localidad costera de Deal. Fue aquí donde desembarcó en el año 55 a. C. la primera invasión romana de Britania, liderada por Julio César. En el siglo XIII, Deal era el puerto más activo de Inglaterra; hoy la ciudad es conocida por su encantadora calle principal, su ambiente de cafeterías, su castillo y su muelle. Daremos un tranquilo paseo por el paseo marítimo y comeremos algo, ¿quizá un «fish & chips» junto al mar?
Siguiendo la costa pasaremos junto al castillo de Dover, conocido como la «llave de Inglaterra» por su importancia histórica. Es una de las fortalezas más grandes e importantes de Gran Bretaña y se remonta al siglo XI. Después llegaremos a nuestra siguiente parada: los mundialmente famosos acantilados blancos de Dover , en Kent, uno de los símbolos naturales más emblemáticos de Inglaterra. Con más de 90 metros de altura sobre el mar, estos relucientes acantilados de tiza ofrecen amplias vistas del canal de la Mancha; en un día despejado se puede ver Francia a lo lejos. Estos famosos acantilados de Kent han sido durante mucho tiempo un símbolo de esperanza, defensa y regreso a casa, sobre todo en tiempos de guerra. Aquí tendremos tiempo de sobra para recorrer los senderos del acantilado, respirar el aire del mar y admirar una de las vistas más impresionantes de Inglaterra.
Regreso a Londres
A última hora de la tarde, nuestra jornada desde Londres a los acantilados blancos de Dover emprenderá el camino de vuelta hacia el interior. La excursión a Canterbury y los acantilados blancos regresa al DoubleTree by Hilton, Tower Hill, sobre las 5:30pm.

One of the most fun memorable day trips for me ever, after flying from New Zealand
especially to see The White Cliffs..
LIAM was our entrepreneur/guide and he was outstanding‼️
Liam was fun, professional, extremely knowledgeable of the entire trip, played the most wonderful music and generally made the trip next level‼️
We left London 8:25am sharp and returned 5:30pm on the same day
As we got close to Dover, the sun came out and it topped off an already brilliant trip 🌞

We really enjoyed the day. Our driver and guide Liam was very knowledgeable and we also enjoyed his British bands playlist.
We wandered around the old town of Canterbury which we found very interesting.. Lunch at a pub in Deal, a drive through Sandwich and on to white cliffs of Dover which were absolutely fantastic.
We can’t fault this tour 10/10 from us. Thank you Liam!

Our driver Liam was the best tour guide / driver we have ever had on trips.
Full of knowledge, Great playlist throughout the trip and very approachable.
Fortunately for us all we had a great bunch of people on board of which everyone was respectful & arrived back at the bus on time which allowed Liam to give give us a little extra time & a small detour.

Excellent tour! Our guide, Kevin, picked us promptly on time. As we headed out towards our first stop, he provided riveting historical details about sights in London as we passed. Kevin had a generous sense of humor that enlivened our trip to Canterbury. He also answered all of our questions. Traffic was lighter than normal through the day so we were able to view a couple of extra sites such as the Dover castle, which is magnificent.
Being in a smaller coach and able to navigate the road construction along the way was helpful as well. We saw all the sights and returned to our point of origination on time. Superb trip and services!

I was looking for a day trip with my daughter outside of London and this was the perfect choice. David was wonderful and informative. Stops along the way break up the day, enough time at each location so that you don’t feel rushed. The views are just breathtaking! I will definitely do another GO-tour next visit.

We so enjoyed our trip. Len was an amazing guide - he shared a lot of interesting information, had a great sense of humor and was a safe driver. We also thought the pacing of the day was just right and the group was a nice size. We knew Canterbury and the cliffs would be enjoyable, but we were happy to find that Deal was a great stop as well. Well worth the money!

It was an excellent day trip, wonderfully organized, with long time in Canterbury to enjoy both the city and the cathedral and plenty of time in Deal for lunch and a little bit of exploring.
The guide, Greg, was very knowledgeable, gave us lots of information in an engaging way. The guy has a lovely sense of humour.

Our tour guide Tony was very competent and pleasant. We received a lot of interesting information. There was enough time left to look at Canterbury Cathedral and to stroll around a bit. The lunch stop in Deal was also perfect. Tony is a great driver.

Tony is a terrific guide and driver! He had loads to tell us about tour highlights, British history, and was very receptive to questions! Made the day a real pleasure. Canterbury Cathedral - magnificent doesn't begin to describe it. If you can, it is absolutely worthwhile to have one of the voluteer guides take you around. I did, and it made the Cathedral experience one of my favorites of this trip! White Cliffs of Dover - breathtaking! I loved that we had plenty of time to walk along the cliff tops to truly take in the fresh air and views. This tour is a wonderful blend of history and natural glories!
