Cornwall is famous for its stunning coastline, golden sands, and turquoise waters. While popular beaches like Fistral and Perranporth attract the crowds, there are still plenty of hidden gems where you can enjoy peace and tranquillity. Whether you're seeking solitude, breathtaking scenery, or an untouched slice of paradise, these five hidden beaches in Cornwall are perfect for a quiet escape.
Nestled in the Cot Valley, Porth Nanven is a truly unique beach with its smooth, round boulders and rugged cliffs. Often referred to as the "Dinosaur Egg Beach" due to the unusual stones, this secluded spot is perfect for those looking to experience Cornwall’s wild beauty without the crowds. While it's not the best for swimming due to strong currents, it’s an incredible place for a peaceful walk, photography, or simply soaking in the scenery.
A breathtaking cove with soft white sand and crystal-clear waters, Lantic Bay is a hidden treasure along Cornwall’s south coast. Accessible via a steep but rewarding walk from the National Trust car park, this unspoiled beach offers seclusion and stunning views. Due to its remote nature, it remains relatively quiet even in peak summer. However, visitors should be mindful of strong tides when swimming.
Often described as one of the most beautiful beaches in Cornwall, Pedn Vounder boasts dramatic cliffs, golden sands, and unbelievably clear waters. At low tide, a sandbar emerges, creating shallow pools perfect for a refreshing dip. Its remote access via a steep and rocky path keeps the crowds away, making it a true hidden gem. Just be aware that Pedn Vounder is known as a naturist-friendly beach, so expect a mix of beachgoers!
Tucked away between Zennor and Pendeen, Portheras Cove is a peaceful beach that locals have kept secret for years. This hidden cove features soft sands and a scenic backdrop of rugged cliffs. Thanks to conservation efforts, the beach is now free of the shipwreck debris that once littered the shoreline. Ideal for a relaxing day by the sea, it’s also a great spot for spotting seals basking on the rocks.
One of Cornwall’s most untouched beaches, Nanjizal is a magical location featuring sea caves, rock pools, and the famous "Song of the Sea" rock arch. Unlike more accessible beaches, Nanjizal requires a scenic coastal walk to reach, but the effort is well worth it. Its isolation ensures that you’ll often have this picturesque beach all to yourself, making it a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle.
Cornwall is full of hidden beaches waiting to be discovered. Whether you’re after breathtaking scenery, quiet relaxation, or a little adventure, these secluded spots offer a perfect escape. Just remember to respect the natural environment, check tide times, and leave nothing but footprints behind!

Well organised tour, great views and tour leader/driver Len was fabulous. Nothing was a problem for him. Hotels good quality.
I had Len and Glenn guiding us throughout the tour and it was absolutely amazing! I had the best time during this trip and would recommend everyone to do it!
They took us to all the spots and explained the history of how J.Clarkson started the farms, restaurants and many more.
a very enjoyable day out through picturesque Fife to St Andrews and then on to the lovely little distillery near the Tay. Jenny was a very friendly and knowledgeable guide. Ample time to explore St Andrews and I would thoroughly recommend this tour, especially the views from both road bridges across the Forth.
I normally don’t give reviews as they are only the persons opinion or someone who has a vested interest. Wife and I did the Best of Wales Tour and it exceeded expectations. Our driver/tour guide Claire was informative, interesting and caring on how she can help us. She knew our names almost instantly and made us feel at home. We enjoy small groups and have done many but will return to this company for any of our needs.
Great tour but Ash was amazing! He couldn’t have been more attentive or more knowledgable. His patience and kindness was most appreciated..
