Great trip to the countryside of Scotland

We had a wonderful time with John seeing the countryside of Scotland in a small group. We had the opportunity to learn more about the history of Scotland with the stories explained by our guide. John was lovely and made us feel right at home. The trip began on time (in the morning) and we got back in the evening, just like mentioned in the description. We highly recommend this activity to anyone that would like to explore a bit more of Scotland (and see some hairy coos!). Big shout-out to John which made this trip memorable!

Go for it!

Jenny was amazing! She knew a lot of Edinburgh story and the tour was very good planned.

Thank you so much for this. Edinburgh is a city full of stories and we are really pleased Jenny brought them to life for you. We hope to welcome you back on another tour soon.

Fab places, great guide and a full day

A great day out on the Loch Lomond, Highlands and Hairy Coos trip. Jenny was our ace driver and guide and obviously knew a shed load of history and local tales, which she explained as we went along - including where to get the best salted caramel brownies! The cruise across the Loch from Balmara was well worth it as an add on, with a lovely crew and Piper the Scotty dog. We had packed a picnic as well which we had on the Lomond shores at Luss. If you like old graveyards, the Kirk at Luss was worth a visit as was the distillery nearby (no connection!). The stops at the Falls of Dochart and Culcross were a decent length - enough for a coffee and wander and the Hairy Coos were definitely worth seeing if you have kids as you can buy the right fodder from the shop (£1) and get slavered on as you feed them carrots :). We really liked Culcross, never heard of it before and it is such a lovely wee village with plenty of history. The drive over the old Forth road bridge was a great chance to see the old rail bridge and dramatic Queensferry one. In brief, a comfortable 14 seater Mercedes coach, great guide, lovely stops and a full day out. Highly recommended.

Thank you so much for this, what a review! We will make sure Jenny sees it and we suspect she will be especially pleased about the salted caramel brownie mention. Culcross is one of those places that always surprises people and Piper on the Loch cruise is hard to beat. We are really pleased the whole day came together so well and that the Hairy Coos delivered! We hope to welcome you back on another tour soon. Cheers, James

Amazing journey, Amazing Jenny!

We had such a lovely time on this tour and greatly due to our tour guide, Jenny. She’s a born storyteller and she weaved her stories and History with quite a bit of humour which we greatly appreciated!
We were really lucky with the weather and were able to enjoy great views the lochs and glens. Bonus: we got to see the famous Highland Coos!
So in short: 10 out of 10, would absolutely recommend!

Beauty and Reality of Scottish Highlands

Jenny was very informative and amazing. She drove us and guided us around and gave us plenty breaks at the correct spots so that we cover all the scenic locations.

Dear Advait,
Pleased Jenny looked after you well — the Highlands deserve the right stops and it sounds like she nailed it.

A must if you're in Scotland!

We had such an amazing time on our tour in Edinburgh! John, our guide, was so friendly and welcoming from the very start. He’s incredibly knowledgeable about Scotland’s history—you can really tell he loves what he does. Even though it ended up being just my husband and me on the tour, John was so happy to still take us out and make sure we had a great experience. He even took some lovely photos for us along the way! You get to see so much of Scotland and learn so many fascinating things. Highly, highly recommend this tour!

Dear Aurélie,
John is brilliant — a tour of Scotland's history with someone who genuinely loves it, that's pretty special! Really glad he made the day memorable for you both.

5 stars! - Absolutely wonderful

It was a wonderful tour! The guide will tell stories and shows the most wonderful places. Between the stories the guide plays matching music to the story or scenery. This is a must if you want to explore Scotland. There is enough time at each stop to go for a walk or shop. The tour includes places with not a lot of tourists which makes it less crowded, so you can enjoy the scenery and highlights in peace.

Dear Joey,
Brilliant to hear — beautiful spots and a soundtrack to match, doesn't get much better than that! Really glad you had a good one.

Incredible trip !

Absolutely amazing trip! To escape the business of Edinburgh and enjoy the beautiful Highlands. Even you have the opportunity to go on the water by boat to go to Luss. The length of the tour was perfect. Jenny knows a lot about the history, I especially liked the story about the witchcrafts in Scotland. This is 100% recommended 👌

A great way to dip your toe into the depths of Scottish history

Jenny was an amazing and knowledgeable guide, the tour was brilliant at providing history and enough free time to explore the stops. A great combination of natural and man made beauty combined with Jenny’s obvious love and enthusiasm for Scotland made it a fantastic day out.

This is the Goldilocks Tour, it’s not too long, not too short . . . but just right.

Went on tour with my college-age daughter. Jenny was an excellent guide and driver. She was knowledgeable, friendly, patient, and flexible to adjust things when original plans changed. Jenny provided great historical background while on our tour but also provided her own perspectives and experiences as a local. It was beautiful scenery all along the way through but the big highlight was definitely picturesque Loch Lomond. This tour wasn’t grueling 12.5 hours but a more manageably planned 9 hours. Ours was shorter due a smaller group size. You also don’t have the potential for nearly 50 people max like with those big buses but rather 16 tops in a mini bus. It was a much better quality experience without a massive crush of people in the bathroom queues or at lunch spots. Go UK Tours strikes the right balance where you don’t feel like your tour ran you ragged but you still see a good mix of different locations.

Unforgettable tour with Jenny to the highlands!

We had an amazing time on the Highland Lochs & Glens tour with Jenny, she truly made the experience unforgettable! She was incredibly knowledgeable, sharing not only the history behind every place we visited but also so many fascinating details and funny stories that brought everything to life. You could really feel her passion for Scotland and its heritage. Her energy, humor and storytelling made the journey feel special from beginning to end. I will definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Scotland and I’d happily repeat the experience with Jenny and go tours around Scotland! Thank you Jenny!

One of the highlights of our holiday!

I booked the Go Tours trip to Loch Lomond for my family of 5 and we really enjoyed it. Not only were the views and natural environment stunning, but Jenny's informative and light hearted historical commentary made the trip there and back go really fast! Even my teens enjoyed listening to it. The boat trip on Loch Lomond was quite magical, even in the rain and mist (or maybe because of that!). Bring a waterproof jacket and enjoy :)

It's fantastic to hear the tour was one of the highlights of your holiday. Jenny will be delighted to know she kept the whole family entertained. Loch Lomond certainly a magic feel about it, even in the Scottish rain.

simply amazing, so worth it

We impulsively booked the tour for our first scotland trip, and didnt expect much given the price was fairly reasonable compared to other guided tours. However, we were pleasantly surprised by the whole tour, especially Jenny, our guide who shared us facts about Scotland throughout the whole ride. Very worth it, and would definitely recommend to other people. Might go back next time with my family as well :))

It's lovely to read that the tour exceeded your expectations. Jenny is great a sharing stories and information along the way. We'd look forward to welcoming you and your family back on another tour in the future.
