Stonehenge & Windsor tour from London

Stonehenge, Windsor, and Bath in a single day is a long stretch — Bath is an hour from Stonehenge, which means a lot of driving and not much time anywhere. By focusing on two destinations, we can give you an hour and a half at Stonehenge and over three hours in Windsor, which is what both places really deserve. It's a more relaxed day for it.

One hour and thirty minutes — enough to spend time at the exhibition, walk out to the stones, take photographs at your own pace, and browse the gift shop before we leave. It's one of the more generous Stonehenge allocations on any day tour from London.

Your Stonehenge entry is pre-arranged by us. Simply pay your guide by card when you arrive on the tour. Adults from £25, children (5–17) from £15.

Windsor Castle tickets need to be booked by you in advance. We recommend booking a 2pm time slot. Your guide will show you how to do this on the day if you haven't already. Adults £32 in advance, children (5–17) £16. Book at rct.uk.

Just over three hours. That's time for a proper sit-down lunch, a full visit to the castle, and a walk around the town or along the river. Your guide will have lunch recommendations so you don't lose time deciding where to go.

Your guide will suggest a couple of options — typically a riverside pub and somewhere closer to the castle in the town lanes. Windsor has a good mix of places across different budgets, and with three hours you're not rushing any of it.

Quite a lot. The Long Walk is a two-and-a-half-mile avenue through Windsor Great Park — you don't need to walk the whole thing, but even the first stretch is lovely. Eton is a five-minute walk across the bridge and worth a wander for the buildings and atmosphere. The town itself has independent shops, riverside pubs, and several good restaurants. Three hours tends to go quickly.

You can reach Windsor by direct train from London Waterloo or Paddington. Stonehenge is more difficult — there's no direct train, and the bus service from Salisbury is limited. Joining a guided tour means both destinations in one day, with pre-arranged entry tickets, expert commentary, and no connections to navigate.

Yes, especially with enough time to approach it properly. The exhibition in the visitor centre puts the achievement in context before you go out to the stones, and the stones themselves are better experienced slowly. With 1hr 30min on site, there's no pressure to rush either.
