This 2-day Highland tour features stops at iconic locations including Glencoe, Loch Ness, and Glenfinnan Viaduct. Customers praised the knowledgeable guide Jenny who provided engaging commentary with Scottish music. The small group format allows flexibility and personalized experiences. While the long bus hours (8am-6pm) are noted, frequent stops help. Some suggested skipping the Loch Ness boat tour and reallocating time to Fort Augustus.

Amazing 2 day Loch Ness and Highlands Tour

We did the 2 day tour of Loch Ness and the Scottish Highlands. We had an incredible time, and we feel that we got so much out of our tour, especially for the price. Our tour guide Jenny was so fun, knowledgeable, interesting, and all around incredible at her job. She brought us to some really fun extra destinations, where we fed highland cows, visited ancient burial mounds, roamed castles, and more. Our group was small with only 6 members, which was perfect, as we were all able to get to know each other. I would recommend this tour, company, and tour guide to anyone!

A great time was had by all on the 2 day Loch Ness & Glenfinnan Viaduct tour from Edinburgh

We did the 2 day Loch Ness & Glenfinnan Viaduct tour from Edinburgh (small group). Our guide was Jenny who not only did a wonderful job driving, but gave us an almost non stop history lesson intertwined with music that complimented it. We made plenty of stops along the way so we never felt stuck in the van for long periods of time. We were very fortunate to have great weather (for Scotland) and had non stop epic views along the way, and at each site. Jenny also made recommendations for picking up our lunch ahead of our lunch stop so we weren’t stuck with whatever was on offer at the tourist sites! Because we only had 6 of us on the trip Jenny was also able to adjust times at each place based on our interest and enthusiasm for it. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip!

Hi Tracy. Great weather in Scotland for two days running is genuinely rare, so you were blessed. The fact that she could flex the timings for a group of six is exactly why we keep things small. Thanks for such a lovely and detailed review. Best, James

Awesome trip if you want to see the Scottish Highlands!

We did the 2-day overnight tour from Edinburgh to visit the Scottish Highlands - stops in multiple places including Glenfinnan Viaduct, Loch Ness and Glencoe. Awesome tour - glad we made the decision to do it! We had Jenny as our tour guide and she was a wealth of knowledge that kept the entire bus ride interesting! It was quite the trek - 8am to 6pm in the bus, however there were multiple stops and she shared Scottish history and music to complement it to keep the ride interesting. She was super flexible with the timing and even added in extra stops if we wanted since we were a small group.Only things I would suggest/change - the Loch Ness Riverboat tour (not included) is not really worth it. You can get a great view of Loch Ness and save your money as it’s only a ~20min boat ride. Also I would give less time at the museum stop - we were pleasantly surprised to see a live reenactment, however sounds like that’s not always the case. I would suggest more time at Fort Augustus since we really enjoyed that little town. Highlight of the trip for me were Loch Morlich, Glencoe, Inverness and the highland cows! Recommend the trip would just be mindful of the time in the car!

Dear Katelyn,
Glenfinnan, Glencoe and a proper dose of highland cows, sounds like the Highlands delivered. Jenny's love of Scottish history and music tends to make those longer stretches fly by, and it's lovely to hear she worked in extra stops for you. Many thanks for the feedback about Loch Ness and Fort Augustus, its great to know what we can do to make the experience even better.
Thanks, Maya

Wonderful 2day tour to inverness and the Highlands from edinburgh

I went on the best tour that I have been on with govtours edinburgh.
The driver guide was fantastic she was very friendly knowledgeable and very entertaining her enthusiasm for Scotland showed through and was very infectious I would give her 15 out of 10.
Accomodation in inverness was very comfortable with a really good choice of breakfast and we visited some unusual places including the highland folk museum and Glenfinnan as well as haunting Glen coe to name a few
I would highly recomend this tour and will definitely be back maybe in the autumn or winter.
I can only hope that govtours will do more multi day tours in future .if they do they definitely have a repeat customer in me

Hi Phi, thank you for such kind words about Jenny. Her enthusiasm to share the Scotlands history and views really does shine through on her tours. Really glad you enjoyed the accommodation in Inverness. Lovely that you're already thinking about coming back, we look forward to you joining us again.
Best, Maya

A trip to remember

This was a fabulous trip. I chose this company as I liked the idea of having a bit of freedom at the stops, in addition to the small group nature. The tour guide Jenny, was nothing less than amazing, I loved her commentary intertwined with music that reflected the moment. Her knowledge and passion for Scotland was evident. The itinerary that she chose for us, was exceptional, and I never imagined that I was going to see so much of Scotland. All situations were dealt with professionally and in the best interest of the group. As a solo female traveller, I felt nothing but safe and welcomed on this tour. The minibus itself, was comfortable, with charging points a bonus, for those of us who took too many photos this was very much welcomed. The initial meeting place was great, if you get there early you can enjoy breakfast before you head. I would recommend if staying overnight choosing a hotel nearby as this was a great choice I made. I enjoyed that I could choose and eat as required. I really enjoyed Urquhart Castle, a trip down Loch Ness, Glencoe and everything else along the way. When I next get the chance to choose a tour, I would high;y recommend Go Tours UK. Communication before the tour was great.

Dear Allison,

Jenny's music-and-commentary combo really does capture the moment perfectly, and it sounds like she packed an incredible amount of Scotland into the itinerary for you. Glad you felt safe and well looked after travelling solo, and that the charging points came in handy for all those photos. We appreciate your thorough review, and hope to see you again on another tour.

Thanks, Maya

Loch Ness and Glenfinnan Viaduct. Excellent trip to the Highlands of Scotland

Our guide was Jenny, who did an excellent job of drivings us around and showing us sites at stops. She had excellent knowledge of the areas we were traveling thru. She answered most questions great and had that great accent that US citizens enjoy .

Thank you for the kind words, however did you mean to leave us a one star review?

Can you tell me more about our overnight stop in Fort William?
What is the historical significance of Glencoe?
What is the history of Urquhart Castle?
What is the legend of the Loch Ness Monster?
What is the Glenfinnan Viaduct?
